Man with Van Colyers Modern Slavery Statement

This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the actions taken by Man with Van Colyers to prevent modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and exploitation in our operations and supply chains. We recognise our responsibility to uphold the highest ethical standards and to treat all people with dignity and respect. This statement relates to the financial year ending 31 March and will be reviewed and updated annually.

Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy

Man with Van Colyers has a zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery and human trafficking. We are committed to conducting our business in a manner that protects the rights and freedoms of all individuals involved in delivering our services. We will not knowingly engage with any supplier, contractor, or partner that is involved in or benefits from any form of modern slavery or exploitative labour practices.

All directors, staff, and regular contractors are expected to act with integrity, comply with applicable laws on labour and human rights, and raise concerns where they suspect unethical or unlawful conduct. Breaches of this policy may result in disciplinary action, termination of contracts, and, where appropriate, reporting to the relevant authorities.

Our Business and Supply Chain

Man with Van Colyers operates within the transport and removals sector, providing man and van services to domestic and commercial customers. Our direct workforce is relatively small and is engaged in roles such as driving, removals, administration, and customer support.

Our supply chain includes vehicle and equipment providers, fuel suppliers, uniform and consumable goods suppliers, vehicle maintenance providers, and occasional subcontracted labour. We recognise that some of these areas, particularly temporary labour and overseas-sourced goods, can present higher risks of modern slavery. We are committed to identifying and addressing those risks in a proportionate and effective way.

Supplier Standards and Audit Approach

We expect all suppliers and subcontractors to adhere to the same high standards that we set for our own operations. As part of our zero-tolerance approach, we are implementing a structured supplier assessment process that includes:

Requiring suppliers to confirm compliance with all relevant labour, human rights, and anti-slavery laws in the jurisdictions where they operate. Considering a supplier’s track record, reputation, and ethical commitments as part of our selection and onboarding process. Prioritising long-term relationships with suppliers who can demonstrate robust ethical and labour practices. Reserving the right to request documentation or conduct audits, proportionate to the size and risk profile of the supplier, to verify compliance with our standards.

Where we identify non-compliance or areas of concern, we will work with the supplier to implement corrective actions within defined timeframes. If issues are not resolved satisfactorily, we will consider suspending or terminating the business relationship.

Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing Channels

Man with Van Colyers is committed to creating a culture in which concerns about modern slavery, exploitation, or unethical conduct can be raised without fear of reprisal. All staff, suppliers, and stakeholders are encouraged to report any suspicion or evidence of:

Forced, bonded, or child labour. Human trafficking or exploitation. Coercion, intimidation, or withholding of identity documents. Unlawful deduction of wages or restriction of movement.

Concerns can be reported directly to a line manager, a company director, or through any established internal reporting procedure. Reports will be treated seriously, investigated promptly, and handled as confidentially as possible. We will not tolerate any form of victimisation or retaliation against individuals who raise concerns in good faith.

Training, Awareness, and Continuous Improvement

We are committed to raising awareness of modern slavery risks across our workforce. Core staff involved in supplier management, recruitment, and operations will receive guidance on recognising warning signs and understanding our reporting processes. As we grow, we will continue to strengthen our procedures, update internal guidance, and share learning from investigations and industry best practice.

We also expect our key suppliers to communicate equivalent standards to their own staff and subcontractors, creating a consistent and transparent approach throughout the supply chain.

Monitoring, Annual Review, and Accountability

This Modern Slavery Statement will be reviewed each year by the leadership of Man with Van Colyers to assess its effectiveness and to reflect any changes in our business, legislation, or best practice. The annual review will consider:

Feedback from staff and suppliers. Outcomes from any audits, assessments, or investigations. Changes in relevant laws or regulatory guidance. Opportunities to improve training, due diligence, and reporting mechanisms.

Following each review, we will update this statement and our internal policies where necessary, ensuring that our approach to preventing modern slavery remains robust, transparent, and aligned with our values. The directors of Man with Van Colyers take overall responsibility for this statement and for ensuring it is implemented throughout the organisation.
